Long-time readers will know that UGC is a prime channel for language learning apps.

Some, such as Airlearn, Pingo and Fluently, have over 100 creators running.

Voca has posted 580 videos and so far has reached only 6.8M views, which is a little short in performance compared to the more aggressive apps mentioned above.

It does seem like their strategy is the opposite of the others that target the U.S. directly. Voca is producing content from the Philippines or Indonesia, targeting English learners there.

Most videos so far are low quality or have poorer views, but we’ll keep a close eye on them as things in this space can rise quickly.

Their “cute” avatar look also stands out and brings to mind Tolan Alien, the AI character that pulled in tens of millions of views on U.S. TikTok.
