Two creators are generating early traction, but is it enough to crack the market?

New AI Fanfiction App Comes After C.AI

Early traction doesn’t always appear in view counts.

Kindred lets users create and experience interactive, AI-guided stories and characters.

The app is barely 2 months old, but creators began posting back in September 2025, though not consistently.

October marked the first real spike. From November to December, there was complete inactivity. In January, posting became consistent, with no gaps.

So far, most of the views come from two creators using opposite formats:

@faye.kindredai->Faceless

Films only the app.

But his best‑performing video had only 344.9K view.

“what are you doing?”

@faye.lovekindred-> Headshot reaction

Opens with a facial expression, then shows the app.

Her top video doesn’t show the app at all. Instead, she used the classic “diss your competitor” trick, naming c.ai and implying that a new app is coming that will be better.

“c.ai girlies, tell me one thing that immediately makes you turn off a character so I don’t include it in my new app” -> 916.9k views, 8,935 comments

The most viral comments focus on tropes, clichés, and common icks in AI characters.

Another video from @faye.lovekindred hit 8.6% engagement rate.

“When your c.ai app alternative was just an idea last week, and now…” -> 274.5k views, 1,026 comments

They are still clearly in the experimental phase by testing many different hooks and see what sticks.
