44-Day Old AI Chat App Leverages Ex‑Competitor Creators to Scale
A new AI chat app is rising on TikTok, powered by creators who just switched sides.
Maple is an AI app that creates characters you can chat and role‑play with.
The app is only about a month and a half old, but its TikTok presence began earlier, in October 2025. After going quiet for all of January, it started posting again in February.
The main creator behind the account is @maple.juann, and his format is just starting to get traction.
What stands out is that he used to make content for Maple’s competitor, FoxyChat, and in February, he started posting for Maple with the exact same format and even the same hook.
His original FoxyChat video-> “Me at 3am trying to reply to c.ai” reached 1.4M views, with the caption: “That’s why I use FOXYCHAT.”
In February, he reposted the same video for Maple, but with the caption:
“SO BORED that’s why I switched to usemaple.ai” generating 508.1K views and 1,030 comments.
Another Maple creator, @dylan.maple, follows the same format and he also previously worked with the competition.
We’ll be watching closely to see if the next creators joining their network are truly new, and whether they bring new formats with them.
