Secret ‘Black Mirror’ Dating Site Going Viral Behind 60K Download App

It sounds like Black Mirror for dating.

A new website has been spreading across TikTok by making one promise that feels almost too futuristic to scroll past: describe your ideal partner, and it will find the closest real dating profile across Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, Hoppy, and more.

The website is called Order Your Dream Match, and the first impression feels closer to a social experiment than a dating app campaign.

Users can select the traits they want in a partner, from appearance to personality, and the site turns the whole thing into a custom dating search engine.

It is easy to see why people started calling it “Black Mirror for dating.” The idea feels uncomfortable in the exact way that makes people want to try it.

The viral discovery

Order Your Dream Match first appeared around April 17, and for a few weeks it looked like another strange internet experiment. Then, on May 14, one video changed the campaign.

A dating app ambassador @sushiiturtleprincess posted a shocked reaction video with the hook:

“girls I fear technology has gone TOO far bc why can i literally order a bf online and it will find matching dating app profiles for me”

The video hit 3M views, with 56K saves and 96K shares.

The format is easy to follow. She reacts to the idea, opens the website on her laptop, chooses the type of person she wants, filters traits like hairstyle, facial hair, and personality, then reaches the final result: a real dating profile. The screen says that out of 318 matches, this person was #1.

That ending is what turns the video from curiosity into conversion. Viewers get to watch someone create a fantasy partner, then see an actual profile appear at the end. The curiosity peaks right when the site asks them to continue into the app.

The plot twist

The clever part is that Order Your Dream Match appears to search across many dating apps. The website mentions Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, Hoppy, and more, which makes the experience feel like a broader dating search engine.

Then people start seeing the same weird pattern.

The final result seems to lead to one dating app again and again.

Hoppy.

That is the real campaign.

Hoppy is a dating app that did around 60K downloads and $6K MRR last month. Before this wave, the app was already running UGC through ambassadors, mostly with question-led dating hooks and Hoppy promoted in the caption or final beat.

Order Your Dream Match changes the entry point.

People enter for the fantasy of ordering their dream match. They reach the final profile at peak curiosity. Then they get redirected to download Hoppy.

That is what makes the funnel so sharp.

The website became the ad

Around May 12, Hoppy ambassadors started promoting Order Your Dream Match directly, and the story became much easier to sell. The hook was no longer “try this dating app.” It became “describe exactly who you want, and the internet will find them.” That gave creators a stronger demo, a better reason for viewers to comment, and a natural ending where the app appears right when curiosity is highest.

After the 3M-view breakout, other ambassadors repeated the same structure across TikTok and Instagram: shocked reaction, dating-tech hook, website demo, profile reveal, then download. The format was clear enough to scale immediately.

Why it converts

The funnel works because the download arrives at the most emotional point. Users start on a free browser-based website, describe the person they want, watch the site return a matching profile, and reach the app store when they already feel invested in the result.

Hoppy becomes the next step in the experience, rather than another dating app asking for attention.

The bigger lesson

Hoppy turned a dating app promo into a discovery game. The landing page creates the fantasy, the demo creates the proof, and the final profile creates the desire. People came for the dream match, and Hoppy got the install.
