Baby Photo App Turns Grandma AI Prank Texts Into 17M UGC Views

A baby photo app is growing fast by using one of the clearest UGC formats in the mom niche right now.
Precious is a baby photo editor and tracker that helps parents create cute baby pictures, milestone posts, and keepsakes. Last month, it reached 200K downloads and around $300K in MRR. It also ranked inside the Top 100 Lifestyle apps in more than 100 countries.
A big part of its growth seems to be coming from TikTok UGC.
A small group of ambassador accounts has already driven massive reach by acting out everyday mom situations and making the app the twist inside family text stories.
Four of those accounts alone generated 17.2M views.
The best-performing videos are not normal product demos.
They feel like personal family drama and work as either videos or slideshows.
The cover is usually a selfie or a photo of the creator holding a baby, paired with one simple hook:
“Left my baby with my MIL / grandma for 2 hours, and this is what I get”

Then it turns into a fake text screenshot.
The grandma, mom, or mother-in-law sends a weird or funny AI-edited photo of the baby. The baby is wearing something unexpected or placed in a ridiculous scene. Then comes the reveal: it was made with the Precious app.

That reveal also works as a subtle CTA. “the precious app” sounds like a normal way to describe the app, but it is also the actual app name. So users may start searching for it without realizing Precious is the name.
Here are the viral hook templates they used. Most of them mention a relative, a person, and a specific amount of time.
